Would you believe the “Most Popular” type taildragger on Ladies Love Taildraggers is really a hard thing to pin down?! As new gals come and their airplanes change, the “Most Popular” morphs and changes too. What I can tell you is, right now, this is the #1 taildraggers our ladies are lovin’!!

That’s a great intro to this site. I love my Super Cub…and I drug my feet in getting it. I was worried about only having 2 seats. I’ve found that it is just too much fun to worry about.

Here’s to Chicks with Sticks! Funny how the grass is greener, Christina. I “met” a Scout this year and the drool marks are probably still on it. Sheepishy I have to admit I think I wrongly tilted the scales to Super Cubs. I’m afraid the picture of the little yellow in the shop with the cat is my PA-12, the quiet older brother of the Super Cub. I LOVED that it was mis-identified and ended up in the video though!! Seems most people don’t know what a Super Cruiser is so I’ve submitted to saying “Cub” on the radio. I tried on “Super Cub” on the radio for a while but it just felt really wrong. If I said “Super Cruiser” around here people would be looking for a low wing piper or something. “Cub” creates some interesting confusion though. I laughed when I got cut off in the pattern one day by a C-150. I had a slight advantage in position when he heard I was a cub he promptly said “I’ll go in front.” So I hung it on the prop and let him pass (no flaps). Guess the mighty 100 hp C-150 pilot knew something I didn’t about my 135 hp cruiser. I had a good laugh with him when we met on the ground.

Now here’s a thought: A Supercub with a radial P&W hanging off its nose! Perfection! (well, maybe except for the weight & balance, but otherwise it’s perfect).

WOW. What a fun video. Super Cubs winning makes sense: fun to fly, gets into practically any spot, good fuel economy, and a STICK;smart choice! Although I fly an American Champion Scout, my fly-buddies have Super Cubs and Kit Foxes and I hold them in HIGH regard (Ha)… Here’s to CHIX WITH STICKS!

Great video! I hear only rave reviews for Super Cubs and I look forward to flying one some day! I really thought the #1 taildragger would be Citabrias; it looks like we were close! Here’s a plug for Citabrias and my home state of Wisconsin: I’m a 20-minute flight from American Champion Aircraft, located at Fox River Airport (96C)!

And it truly is “an everlasting love!” I’ve had my Supercub since June 2002, never thought of owning any other airplane. Not to say I don’t like flying or riding in other kinds, just this was always what I wanted. I love her swoopy tail, and eagerness to go aviate!

    Great video, Judy!

Sorry, Selina, Stinson’s weren’t near the top but your numbers are growing fast. It went more like this; Citabrias/Decathalons were edged out by a hair by Super Cubs, then Cubs, then Champs, then Cessna 180s. We’ll try it again in 6 months or so – surely it will be Stinson’s by then!!
