Cassandra Bradley (Florida)

Cassandra Bradley is based at X55, Mid Florida Airport, Eustis, Florida.

I’m a 47 year old network administrator. Married but separated. I never had any children but I love my kitties!

My uncle used to be a flight instructor many years ago and used to take me for rides in his Cessna 175 back when I was a teenager. That got me interested but his plane was destroyed in a fire and he didn’t get another one until decades later. For me, regular life took over, along with the whole adulting thing and I came to regard flying as strictly a thing for rich people and sort of forgot about it for many years.

I recently met a friend who has a hangar next to her house and a grass runway behind it. She’s teaching me how to fly a plane and I gave her some lessons in aerial photography from a drone.

No actual ratings at the moment. I fly a drone every now and then at work and am studying for the Part 107 test. I’m also getting whatever instruction and time at the controls I can get in my friend’s Rans S20 taildragger.

Dream taildragger: I can’t say right now. I need to experience more before I make a commitment! 🙂

Thoughts on taildragging: I’m actually kind of scared of them right now… More specifically, landing one myself.  I’m determined to learn how to conquer that fear and handle one with confidence!

    Come on over to Love’s Landing (97FL) tomorrow, 11/3, for our EAA fly-in lunch. Weather should clear out in the next few hours. It’ll be a lot of fun!

    Cassandra, if you want to have mad taildragger flying skills, go to a club or glider operation that has a Schweizer 2-33 trainer. At least become competent to solo the 2-33…and then find a place where you can train on an Aeronca 7AC Champ. Once you have a private license and some experience, you’re going to be able to transition into virtually any other taildragger.
