The 2018 LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ Scholarships. For Ladies, By Ladies!

2018 Scholarship Applications are now closed.

Applications will be available January 1, 2019.

Lady pilots, it’s time to apply for the 2018 LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ scholarships! I am thrilled to report we are offering SIX fantastic scholarships this year, each one more exciting than the next. I know you’re anxious to pore through them all and decide which one is calling your name, but hold on — there’s more big news.

I’ve made one teeny change to our 2018 scholarship program, but that little change has colossal implications. No longer will our scholarship winners receive training from men CFIs. In 2018, all flight training will be performed by women CFIs or women-owned flight schools. Our mission is to encourage more women to fly tailwheel aircraft and I can think of no better way to inspire applicants than to highlight highly competent, excellent female instructors from across the U.S.

Our scholarship winners have been trained by several dynamic male instructors in the past. Each instructed with excellence and skill and we are grateful. Over the years, Brian Lansburgh, owner/CFI at Tailwheel Town, has donated many tailwheel endorsements. He’s behind us 100% and believes, as an organization, we are moving in the right direction. This change, however, is not about men, it’s about expanding the focus and opportunities that await all women in aviation.

Our tailwheel endorsement scholarships are open to all female nosewheel pilots. Those who apply for a tailwheel endorsement scholarship will automatically be considered for all tailwheel endorsement scholarships. The advanced training scholarships are available to any female taildragger pilot including LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ members. Applicants must apply for each advanced training scholarship separately. 2018 is going to be a great year for six deserving lady pilots. Why not YOU?!!

Online applications are due by midnight February 28, 2018 and the scholarship winners will be announced no later than April 15, 2018. Winning applicants must complete flight instruction by November 30, 2018 or scholarship is void.
