Sweetwater WASP Museum or Bust!

LadiesLoveTaildraggers to visit the WASP WWII Museum at Sweetwater, TX!

Hopefully you’ve heard LadiesLoveTaildraggers is hosting a Fall Haunted Flying Tour this year instead of our traditional LLT fly-in. It’s going to be one spectacular adventure for everyone who participates, whether flying the entire route, a portion of it, or driving and meeting the group somewhere along the way. Check out all the fun details and Registration Form at LADIES LOVE TAILDRAGGERS 2018 HAUNTED FLYING TOUR. You’ll also find a link for those who are looking for a passenger, those looking to hop a ride, and anyone wanting to share motel expenses along the way.

With destinations like Lambert’s Cafe (Sikeston, MO), the haunted Settles Hotel (Big Spring, TX) and the famous  Ranger Field Fly-in & Airshow (Ranger, TX) on our flight plan, we can’t go wrong. That is, we can’t go wrong if we include the single, most important destination all women pilots should see when visiting Texas – the WASP WWII Museum, Sweetwater, TX.

The WASP’s story (Women Airforce Service Pilots) is a huge part of the history of women pilots in America. We can never forget the WASPs participation in WWII, and we cannot visit Texas without visiting Sweetwater and paying respect to the contributions made by the WASPs. Of all the many stops we’ll make during our flying tour, this is our Keynote destination. If you are only coming for one day, just one overnight, come to Avenger Field, Sweetwater, TX.

The National WASP WWII Museum is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and funding allows the Museum to expand its efforts in educating the public on the story and legacy of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. The required donation for LadiesLoveTaildraggers (or any organization) to use the museum & hangar as a gathering point is $750.00. Meals are a separate cost. I have paid suggested donations to other venues where LadiesLoveTaildraggers has met and understand the necessity for a non-profit to remain financially solvent.

I have started a GoFundMe Campaign in hopes of raising the funds. With the GoFundMe fees and the associated payment processing fees, I must raise $817.50 to cover the full amount. I don’t like to ask for money but I can’t afford to pay it by myself. Do not send your donation directly to the WASP Museum or it will not be credited to the LadiesLoveTaildraggers event. If you would like to donate and avoid the fees, please mail your check to Ladies Love Taildraggers, 7231 Elm Ridge Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46236. I can add your donation to the GoFundMe link so all donations are noted and tallied. 100% of your donation will go to the WASP WWII Museum.
